Mike Wootton, Managing Partner 

Mike is an operating investor and senior executive with over 15 years of operational strategy, operations consulting, and operating experience. Prior to forming Vie Capital Partners, Mike was a Vice President and Partner at Celerant Consulting (now Hitachi Consulting), where he led the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice from 2006 to 2010. Mike also played leadership roles in the Operations, Analysis, and Business Development functions at Celerant. Mike has worked with a broad array of large and small pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare organizations to deliver major business transformations including some high profile work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Mike has personally partnered with clients to deliver over $1 billion in capital value. Prior to his consulting work Mike worked as an engineer involved in product and process development in the Medical Device, Manufacturing, and Machine Design sectors. Mike received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. 


Trevor McCaw, Managing Partner 

Trevor is a serial entrepreneur with track record of identifying and executing innovative healthcare and high technology software businesses. Trevor founded Aegis Medical Innovations Inc, a medical device start-up partnered with Mayo Clinic to develop a stroke prevention technology for patients with atrial fibrillation. At Aegis, Trevor was solely responsible for managing all the operations, ongoing development and commercialization of a break-through medical device technology. Previously, Trevor worked in Medtronic’s Patient Management Group where he focused on the planning and launch of CareLink, Medtronic’s industry-leading remote patient monitoring technology. Trevor was named one of only 30 "Emerging Leaders" within the company by Medtronic’s most senior executive management. Prior to Medtronic Trevor worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group and Innosight. As an entrepreneur, Trevor co-founded an enterprise software company that went public in 2001 on the AIM stock exchange. Trevor received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University in Canada and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
